Prague Airport to Poprad: 562 km, about 8 h 20 min by coach (incl. 1 break). We drive Mercedes-Benz and Setra coaches for 49 to 53 passengers with WC and air conditioning, and send a binding quote within 24 hours.
Prague is further from the High Tatras than Kraków, Vienna or Budapest, but for some groups it is the airport where the flights work: a direct connection, a group fare or a city stay in Prague before the mountains. The coach covers about 562 km in about 8 h 20 min, a long day but still a single-driver journey within the EU daily limit.
Across Czechia and the length of Slovakia
From the airport the coach heads east across Bohemia and Moravia, crosses into Slovakia and continues through the Váh valley and the Liptov region to the Poprad basin beneath the Tatra peaks. Czechia and Slovakia are both in Schengen, so there is no routine passport check, though every passenger needs an ID card or passport. Tolls in both countries are paid by the coach. One 45-minute break is required after 4.5 hours of driving.
Planning a full travel day
Because the transfer takes over eight hours, a morning landing is close to essential if the group wants to arrive in the Tatras for dinner. Some groups prefer to spend a night in Prague first and leave after breakfast, in which case the coach collects them from their hotel. Include the flight number in your enquiry so a delay is taken into account. Ski bags, boot bags and suitcases of up to 30 kg each travel in the hold. One coach for 49 to 53 people carries a whole ski group and its kit in one go.
Poprad is our home base, so the quote includes driving the coach out to Prague Airport. The return journey works the other way round, as described on Poprad to Prague. For winter stays, see ski trips.
