Prague is a classic destination for school trips, company outings and cultural tours from the Tatras. Through northern Slovakia and Moravia
The coach leaves Poprad westwards through the Liptov region and the Váh valley before crossing into Czechia and continuing across Moravia into Bohemia. The Slovak-Czech border is an internal Schengen border, so there is no passport control, although every passenger still carries an ID card or passport. Tolls in both countries are paid by the coach. The break is usually taken at a motorway service area around the middle of the trip, a good moment for lunch.
Staying in Prague with the coach
Most groups stay at least two nights. The driver then needs a daily rest of at least 11 hours, which may be reduced to 9 hours a limited number of times. In practice that means the evening of arrival is free for walking, and sightseeing by coach starts the next morning.
