Tatranská Lomnica is one of the main resorts on the Slovak side of the High Tatras, known for the cable car up to Lomnický štít and for its ski slopes. Groups heading there usually fly into Kraków, which has many more flights than the small Poprad-Tatry Airport. The coach covers about 146 km in about 2 h 30 min, with no mandatory break.
Round the eastern Tatras into Slovakia
From Balice the coach heads south through Lesser Poland and the Podhale foothills, crosses into Slovakia and reaches Tatranská Lomnica from the north-east side of the mountains. Poland and Slovakia are both in Schengen, so there is no routine border check, but every passenger needs an ID card or passport. The coach pays the tolls in both countries. The last part of the road runs close to the peaks, a fine first view of the mountains after a flight.
Ski groups, flight delays and local drivers
Winter groups bring skis, snowboards and boot bags, and all of it goes in the luggage hold with suitcases of up to 30 kg each. Give us the flight number in your enquiry and the pick-up follows the actual landing if the flight is late.
